Day 5 - Check the Expiration Date

So...I didn't have any breakfast this morning but let me skip straight to the point...the bread was moldy. That's right. I pulled the bread out of the bag and it had mold on it!! So what did I do...

...I cut of the edges with mold on it, threw it in a ziploc bag and stuck in the fridge for later :)

Any mold experts out there? I'm about 1% sure this is safe...

I finished soaking the beans, washed them, bagged them, and put them in the fridge for Wednesday when I will prepare them with a Crock Pot.

Be sure to check the expiration date before you buy bread next time.

  1. I think it's safe because I cut off moldy bits from bread and cheese. But I would have put the bread in the freezer and taken out just a piece or two at a time (bread dries out faster in the fridge).
Actually, what I would have done is take it back to the grocer's. If they sold you an expired loaf of bread, they would replace it,and possibly more than that to regain your good will.
And if it was only a day or short of the expiration date, it should not have been moldy already.
