So, today was a very light day for the first part. This is of course, coming from a guy that used to eat out every meal last month. For breakfast, I had a granola bar. That's it. For lunch, I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a small bowl of oatmeal. That's it.
I also decided that Vitamins are not a food. So I took a Mega Man Performance multivitamin pack. It was rough. It was a lot of vitamins for a body that hasn't had too many vitamins in a while :) It was pretty rough. I felt like just laying down and not doing anything. They kind of made me agitated. My friend Andrew thinks it is because there were so many vitamins but not enough food to absorb some of it. It was a weird feeling. Anyone ever had an adverse effect from vitamins?
For supper, I ate 3 slices of pizza that were left over in the freezer (two weeks old), a bowl of cereal, and a granola bar. It was so good. If I keep eating like that, I might not make it :)
I hope my body absorbs the vitamins and makes tomorrow awesome. :)

You know, for $5 you could make your own granola bars and save a ton of money!
ReplyDeleteWe're doing a similar challenge - but ours is $2 per person per day.
It's easier for 2 people to live on $60 a month than one person on $30, I think - do you agree?
Yes. Especially if the people live together. That way you could buy a 10 lb bag of Rice vs. a 5 lb. bag which would cost less per lb. Sames would be a good choice for $60 versus $30 (if you have a membership there). That is if you are not counting the membership towards the $60 :)
ReplyDeleteI believe that Rice, Ramen Noodles, Bread, Jelly, Peanut Butter (if you wait for a double coupon day buy one get one free b/c it is expensive), dry cereal, and oatmeal are going to be your best money savers.
Of course with $60 you could start looking at Chicken Breasts and cutting them in half so you could have some protein.
Black beans are good too...
2 lbs. brown rice and 1 lb. lentils costs about $3-4 total, and will provide a "ground beef" subsitute protein forever for one person! (It makes about 20-24 servings!) Of course, that assumes one has access to salt, pepper, onion powder, etc. because you gotta spice that stuff up!
